Idol Amateur Actually A WB Vet

America Idol is the nation’s premier amateur singing competition. OR IS IT?

Jackie Tohn was one of the singers that got through to Hollywood this week, but she’s not new to showbiz.  Jackie’s an actress in LA., and has had small parts on lots of television shows, including Veronica Mars and Angel.

What exactly are the rules for this thing? If people who already work in show business can get on to further their careers, can I request MC Hammer try out? He’s dope.

Anna Faris To Tie Knot With Chris Pratt

Moye January 30th, 2009 9:51 pm | 1 Comment »

We love it when the WB stars come together. It’s like we’re one big happy family!

Actress Anna Faris, who we know as the biological mother of Monica and Chandler’s twins from Friends, is getting hitched to Chris Pratt from Everwood.

Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!! I wonder if we’ll be invited to the wedding.

Lauren Graham’s Let It Go

She may be busy prepping for the stage with her role on Broadway’s Guys & Dolls, but she is one step closer to returning to television!

ABC Television has greenlit her comedy project, Let It Go, which means they’ll be shooting the pilot and hopefully, pick it up for an entire new series. Graham will be playing a talk show host who can’t follow her own advice after getting dumped.

So fingers crossed that we’ll be seeing Lorelai Gilmore again!

Happy Almost Groundhog Day!

Next Monday, February 2nd, is officially Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney, PA but you don’t have to wait through the next couple days for the festivities to begin! The small town has a whole weekend planned full of events, including special concerts and comedy nights.

Of course, the celebrations are all counting down to daybreak (7:25am) on February 2nd, where viewers can witness Phil the Punxsutawney Groundhog rise and check to see if his shadow appears.

Remember, if he DOES cast a shadow, that means we’ve got more winter coming! And if he doesn’t, then spring is on its way!

Let’s hope he doesn’t cast a shadow, because I’m running out of warm socks to wear.

Alyson Hannigan’s Fetus Makes Her Crave Flesh

Brendan January 30th, 2009 2:20 pm | 1 Comment »

So, since Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Alyson Hannigan got preggers from her husband, Angel’s Alexis Denisof, she’s been craving (and eating) meat and cheese. Normally, that wouldn’t be a big deal, except that before the pregnancy, Hannigan was a vegan.

I’m no doctor, but I think this means her flesh hungry fetus is controlling her mind. And since craving meat is one step away from craving blood, we all could be in danger.

Hopefully Hannigan can control herself, and limits her meat intake to things like pasta with meat sauce. But what kind of meat sauce? Find out after the jump.

The horror/thriller film, The Uninvited, stars Gilmore Girls’ Arielle Kebbel and opens today, January 30th. The movie, which follows two sisters trying to deal with a mean stepmother, is an American remake of the South Korean film, A Tale Of Two Sisters. It scared the bejeebus out of me, so I’m definitely looking forward to this new version!

Kebbel recently caught up with Artist Direct to talk about the movie and her favorite music, which includes Incubus, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Read the interview here and check out the trailer above!

BroadwayWorld.com got their hands on the official cast photos of Guys & Dolls, which opens on Broadway on March 1st, 2009.

Don’t you think our Lorelai looks beautiful? Do you like her as a blonde or as a brunette?

John Mayer’s Video Advice…To Himself

Brendan January 30th, 2009 9:04 am | No Comments »

This is supposedly a tape that John Mayer left in his VCR when he threw it out, but that’s a big fat lie. It’s actually Mayer making fun of celebrity culture in general and himself in particular. I guess when he’s not on tour or busy dating Jennifer Aniston, he’s making comedy videos now. It’s probably the only time today you’ll hear a Grammy winner say “girth.”

You can watch the exclusive video over at TMZ.

President Obama’s Honestly Honest Tea

Moye January 29th, 2009 10:15 pm | No Comments »

Sometimes there are perks to being the U.S. President. In Barack Obama’s case, this means his office is fully stocked with his favorite beverage–the eco-friendly, organic and healthy Honest Tea.

The iced tea owners Seth Goldman and Barry Nalebuff knew Obama was one of their biggest customers, when the then Senator called to find out where they could purchase the healthy and lightly-sweetened drinks.

Goldman said that Black Forest Berry (which has no caffeine) is Obama’s Honest Tea of choice now.

Honestly, Obama! Look at you starting a whole new trend. Tea is the new coffee!
