annafriel2E! News is reporting that the adorable Anna Friel is moving on from Pushing Daisies to her next highly anticipated project: nothing!

Though the rest of the cast have already signed on for other television pilots and series, Friel has reportedly turned down SIX pilot offers and is going to be focusing on her movie career instead.

Booooo. I guess I’ll just have to watch the Land of the Lost trailer over and over again.

The A.V. Club Interviews Eliza Dushku

And here again is another interview with Eliza Dushku about her new series, Dollhouse with Joss Whedon (creator of Angel , Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly ).

I’m warning you now that unlike most stuff on The A.V. Club, this article isn’t very humorous. That’s okay, though, because gazing into Dushku’s hotness makes up for everything.

I just hope she isn’t getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again.

NC Loves One Tree Hill

oth-cast

With The CW network picking up another season of One Tree Hill, the show is set to become the longest running production in North Carolina history. Sorry, Dawson’s Creek, you just got served, longevity style. North Carolina’s Film Office has come out, praising the decision to renew the show, but NC’s OTH love may be a little selfish. The show, which films in Wilmington, NC, pumped $135 million dollars into the state economy.

I think that works out to about $50 for every secret, deception, betrayal, or redemption, and $100 for each car crash.

Back in the day, he was Wanda on In Living Color . Now, he’s winning Oscars and recording hit songs. Here’s the video for Jamie Foxx’s latest single, “Blame It (On the Alcohol).” Since it is a song recorded since 2006, it of course features T-pain. Jamie’s “crew” in this video is Ron Howard, Jake Gyllenhaal, Forrest Whittaker, Samuel L. Jackson, and a man in a panda costume. Check out the other celebrities making cameos in the background. Plus, Jamie went all M. Night Shyamalan on this, so it has a twist ending.

For many people, three seasons of Veronica Mars was not enough.

Some of those people include show creator Rob Thomas, and Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell. MTV News caught up with Bell on the set of Rob Thomas’ new show, Party Down, where she was doing a guest spot, and asked about the rumored VM movie.

Check out Bell’s take on the film, including actual video of her discussing the movie, at the MTV Movies Blog.

Smallville Returns, Clark Intact

Brendan February 27th, 2009 12:20 pm | 3 Comments »

We reported yesterday that The CW picked up Smallville for a 9th season, but there had been some speculation that Tom Welling, aka Clark Kent, would not be back. Well, end that speculation now. Smallville will be back with almost all the current cast returning, except Dario Delacio who plays Doomsday. Since Clark is supposed to grow up to be the world’s greatest superhero, I don’t know how they would kill him off anyway.

Gadget Thursday: Samsung Memoir

Besides a touchscreen and 3G functionality, the Samsung Memoir’s main drawing point is a  8 megapixel camera. But is the camera as good as it sounds? And how about the rest of the phone? Our friends over at Engadget Mobile (distant relatives of our blog family) got their hands on a Memoir, and have a very extensive review, complete with video, that you can read here.

Bottom line: Don’t plan on taking your wedding pictures on this thing.

The NeverEnding Remake

Moye February 26th, 2009 10:37 pm | No Comments »

Fantasy fans everywhere are bemoaning the announcement that Warner Bros. is in discussion to bring back The NeverEnding Story franchise into a brand new film. Though 3 movies have already been made based on the German book by Michael Ende, rumor has it that we’ll be seeing Falcor on the big screen sometime soon.

It’s not clear whether or not they’ll be continuing the story or actually remaking the entire movie from scratch.

I’m certain about one thing, though. They better not touch the theme music!!!
