Is an iPhone application a gadget? I think they answer is yes. Let’s go with it.

Today’s “gadget” is the Bad Decision Blocker . It blocks you from making calls or emails to certain people on your contact list during a set amount of time. Basically, it prevents you from “drunk dialing” your boss, your ex-boyfriend, or your mom when your judgment has been impaired from too much liquor or candy.

It only costs $.99, which may explain why their 7 minute long “infomercial” for the Bad Decision Blocker looks like a c+ high school video project.

A wise raisin once said, “books, check ‘em out.” Increasingly, this raisin’s advice is being carried out in digital form. Samsung has announced the Papyrus E-book reader, a touch screen device that not only reads e-books, but also includes a memo pad, scheduler, calendar, world clock, calculator, and contact list. The Papyrus expected to cost about $300, which is less $60 less than Amazon’s Kindle E-Book reader, but $300 more than a library card.

Does your iPod nano or iPod touch lack a microphone? They answer is probably “yes,” but if you want to turn your music device into a tiny voice recorder, and you demand cuteness, now there’s the ThumbTacks™ micro-microphone.

The manufacturer claims that this tiny mic is the best in it’s category. Are there other mics even in this category? You can pick one up for only $12.99.

The $79 audio player is about half the size of the current Shuffle and features the player controls on the headset cord–which explains why this looks like a piece of metal that fell out of your computer.

And for those of you who have 1,000 unidentifiable songs to store, the new gadget includes VoiceOver that sounds like a robot voice telling you which artist, song and album is currently playing.

So when does too small become too small for practical use?

Candy: it’s not just for your mouth anymore. If you are tired of your ipod’s stock white earphones, check out these candy inspired earbuds, which, sadly are not edible. They come in Reese’s Pieces, Double Bubble, and Sour Apple “flavors.” Cnet says “more comfortable than the stock set that came with your player.”

Besides a touchscreen and 3G functionality, the Samsung Memoir’s main drawing point is a  8 megapixel camera. But is the camera as good as it sounds? And how about the rest of the phone?
