One Tree Hill Gets SIMS-y

On this week’s episode of One Tree Hill on The CW, several Tree Hill favorites were rendered as characters from the upcoming Sims 3 video game. I don’t know if you get to play as any One Tree Hill characters in the actual game, but I hope so, cause I’ve always wanted to simulate taking heart medication and sleeping with Hilarie Burton. If you are a fan of One Tree, The Sims, or both,  there’s a selection of pictures and wallpapers from the episode available at the CW website.

Oh, and I think that picture is of Peyton and Lucas.

Kristen Kreuk Vs. Her Tranny Double

Brendan February 19th, 2009 7:34 pm | No Comments »

Japan is a wonderful place, filled with magical things like ninjas and Toyotas. It is also the place where Smallville star Kristen Kreuk got to face off against a dude dressed as her character from the upcoming movie Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. I think this is what counts as movie promotion over there. More pictures here, (you have to scroll down) but the site is in Japanese. But really, what needs to be said about men dressed as female video game characters?

Esto es bueno. Check out this Sweet Pac-Man Christmas tree in Madrid, Spain. My C- high school Spanish skills can”t do much to decode the website where this is from, but I did spot “geek,” a word that seems to transcend language and cultural barriers. What’s the Spanish word for “awesome?”

What’s Mama Cooking For Thanksgiving?

Moye November 17th, 2008 7:17 pm | No Comments »

If you’re a vegetarian like Phoebe from Friends, then you’d probably well aware of PETA’s marketing schemes to keep people from eating meat on Thanksgiving.

Check out their new flash game, Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals, a holiday parody of the lovable cooking game where you can gruesomely pluck and disembowel a turkey. Yum, yum!

Play it now.

It’s Nintendo, Y’all!

Wii Make Music!

Moye October 21st, 2008 1:15 pm | No Comments »

I’ve been super busy with my Wii Fit (NOT) that I just noticed the upcoming game, Wii Music, which was released this week.

Variety has a list of some of the songs, which include:

  • Jingle Bell Rock (Your elementary school music teacher)
  • Material Girl (Madonna)
  • Every Breath You Take (The Police)
  • Do-Re-Mi (from the Sound of Music)

Okay, so this really isn’t up to par with Rock Band 2, but all I care about is that there’s a picture of a Mii playing a piano and a cello, which strikes a chord (no pun intended) to my nerdy Asian American childhood where I was forced to take classical music lessons at a young age.

Are you confused about how to play? Watch these videos here.

Now You’re Walking With Power!

Take a look at this fancy pedometer. (It measures how many steps you take, not pedophiles) It’s one of the new gadgets for the Nintendo DSi. You use it for a game called “Your Life Rhythm” which is a “walking game.”

Nothing screams “video game fun” like taking a stroll.

I already know how to walk, so I don’t know if I’ll be picking this one up.

New Nintendo DSi

Brendan October 3rd, 2008 7:09 pm | 1 Comment »

Nintendo has just unveiled their newest portable gaming system. It’s called the DSi, and it’s similar to the regular DS Lite, but it has a bigger screen, some audio enhancements, and not one, but two cameras. Two! That’s like, double the number on an iPhone.

Japan is getting this baby next month, but we Americans (and resident aliens) will have to wait until next freakin’ year, since Nintendo thinks they can get one more Christmas shopping bonanza out of the regular DS.

Nintendo: You’re on my naughty list this year.

Blowing Tetris

Tetris is probably the best game about shoving things into spaces created by other things.  But Tetris’s classic score is also famous – famous enough for these three people to recreate it by blowing into bottles. Check out the very, very acoustic version of the Tetris theme.

Wii Light Saber

Moye October 1st, 2008 9:09 pm | No Comments »

Sorry, I couldn’t think of a witty title for this post. I was going to say that my lightsaber is bigger than yours but I don’t even have a lightsaber to begin with. AND LIGHTSABERS AREN’T REAL.

If you’re going to be a video game nerd, you know you’re not supposed to buy any sort of “attachment” for your Wii remote. Unless you enjoy spending over $30 on a piece of plastic that does absolutely nothing…in that case, you’re all set.

Thrustmaster doesn’t share the same philosophy as they’ve made a pair of “Glow Sabers” to help your imagination grow as you battle out the Dark Side on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

I don’t know, people. Do you want to look even more stupid waving your arms around while trying to play a game?
