Rick Rolling is where you deceive someone into watching the video for the Rick Astley video “Never Gonna give you up”
For example, if I was on a message board for fat cats, I’d post something like “Hey, is this the fattest cat ever!?!” People would not see an obese cat like expected, but instead would see Astley doing a stupid dance and promising not to hurt you.
“Rickrolling” has been pretty popular online, and Rick Astley had a pretty good run of hits in the 80’s, but now Ricky has been nominated for an MTV Europe award…for best act ever. He’s up against U2, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day and Tokio Hotel.
No Michael Jackson, no Beatles, but Rick freakin’ Astley.
“Best” and “ever” and even “act” must have different definitions over in Europe.
