My American Express Wishlist

So we’re in the middle of some kind of recession and though we ought to be tightening our budgets, American Express had go and ruin everything. They’re bringing back their My Wishlist program for their card members, with crazy deals for luxury items that you otherwise would never buy. (Like a special dinner with Chef Gordon Ramsay? Sure.)

The program runs from today until December 18th (so no last minute Christmas gifts for you!)

Of course, you can’t just swoop in and buy what you want like it’s eBay or something. Each product will be featured on a specific day at specific times, so you have to check back often and keep your eye on the clock.

Or you can do what I did and email this website to all of my friends and family, and then hope for the best on December 25th.

A Geek Holiday

Yeah, so Thanksgiving is over. We’ve had our fill of turkey over here, and now we’ve moved onto the next big holiday smash, Chrismukkah.

It’s also Cyber Monday which means we’ll be on the lookout for some awesome online deals to share with you guys. And what is Cyber Monday without some truly geeky gifts for the holidays?

Check out the Serenity ornament which looks like it flew straight out of the last Firefly episode. It even comes with a special stand so when the Christmas tree comes down, you can display it right next to your computer monitor while you watch the show on The WB. Brilliant, right?

And if that’s not nerdy enough, there’s also the Batarang money clip just like Batman used in The Dark Knight!!! Okay, so I don’t really remember seeing any money clip in that movie, but it’s still pretty darn cool.

Black Friday, Cyber Monday

So whether or not you’re out holiday shopping right now (or re-watching all 9 Thanksgiving episodes of Friends like me), The WB would like to make the long weekend as comfortable as possible.

Here’s a list of Black Friday deals for you guys to keep an eye on:

  • Mashable has a list of the top 10 online sites for Cyber Monday deals. Read carefully and shop recklessly.
  • Consumer Reports’ blog lists ways to get the best out of Black Friday EVER. I hope they add “do not stampede poor Walmart employees to death” at the bottom.
  • How to save even more money on Black Friday? Read all about it on io9. I think I’ll be following this list the most.
  • If you’ve got a video game nerd in the family/friends group, Kotaku compiled a convenient list to getting the best game deals around.
  • Or if you’re rich and days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday mean nothing to you because you own the world, Luxist celebrates the holiday shopping season with the Nordstrom’s Ultimate Gift Collection.

Zing! Deals For The Lazy.

If you’re like me, you like to stay away from the crazy hordes around Black Friday (and eat leftover stuffing in front of the TV set).

If you’re also like me, you like to shop for awesome deals online. Thus, I present to you the new website, ZingSale, which will email you when your wanted item goes on sale somewhere in the depths of the Internet. It’s simple, just search for the product you soooo want for Chrismukkah, find the price you want to pay, enter your email address and wait. The moment it goes on sale, ZING! There’s an email notification waiting in your inbox. You’ve got until December 23rd to use this, or otherwise you’re that jerk without any gifts to give.

Fabulous. Now I have even LESS work to do.

Countdown to Black Friday, via Google

Move over, Black Friday. It’s 2008 and we’re all about Cyber Monday! (Though I say we start a petition to drop the word “cyber.” It just reminds me of creepy old chatrooms.)

Google Checkout is offering “fast, easy holiday shopping” in one single login across the Internet. That’s huge. Do you know how big the Internet is??

They’re offering $5 off any orders over $30 on some pretty awesome sites so check it out before it’s too late.
