Bandslam Trailer With Lisa Kudrow

I love all things related to Friend’s Lisa Kudrow, including her Nintendo DS commercials, but I’m kind of confused about her new movie, Bandslam, which stars Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Aly Michalka (from Aly & AJ).

The trailer is totally misleading since I watched it and assumed it was just about a geeky boy who has a crush on Vanessa. But in case you’re curious, the movie is really about a geeky boy who recruits his new friends to compete in a battle of the bands (while having a crush on Vanessa).

John Mayer likes using twitter. A lot. Did his love of Twitter lead to the end of his love with Friends star Jennifer Aniston? According to UK’s Telegraph:

“A source claimed Aniston decided Mayer was not committed enough to her and called time on their romance having found hourly updates on his Twitter page… ‘Jen was fuming. There he was, telling her he didn’t have time for her and yet his page was filled with Twitter updates.’”

This might be a mistake on Mayer’s part, since Twitter doesn’t look as good in a bikini. However, Mayer did seem a little upset after the breakup, famously tweeting: “This heart doesn’t come with instructions.”

After the jump, instructions for the heart.

Ever wonder where your favorite New-York-based sitcom took place? Dan Meth, creator of the Streamy-award-nominated cartoon The Meth Minute, did the research, and came up with this nifty map.

Friends looks about right, but I always thought I always thought Seinfeld was further south.

Clooney Flavor Tofu Proposed By PETA

clooney

PETA, the People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, got a hold of a sweaty towel used by George Clooney, and are proposing making Tofu flavored like Clooney’s perspiration. In a letter to the actor, PETA President Ingrid Newkirk wrote:

“The technology actually exists to take your perspiration and make it into George Clooney-flavored tofu (CloFu).”

Besides the “ick” factor, this seems like a gateway to cannibalism. Via his P.R. people, Clooney turned down the offer, saying “As a mammal, I’m offended.”

If you want to more, or if you are curious how PETA got a hold of Clooney’s sweaty towel, you can read the story in the LA times. If you want a real sample of Clooney, check out this clip when he was a guest star on Friends.

jennifer_anistonIn case you didn’t know or care, Jennifer Aniston would like to let you know (via OK! Magazine) that she is 100% over Brad Pitt. Or, in her words, “I am totally over Brad.”

Okay, that’s awesome, Jen. I mean, you guys DID divorce ages ago, and he’s clearly moved on with his life now that he’s been adopting/making new babies every year…so can you please move on with yours? (Wait, remember when he guest-starred on Friends? Good times, good times!)

We’re just teasing. We still love you. And we love Friends even more. But let’s talk about why you spent over $56,000 for your hair stylist on a recent trip to Europe.

David Schwimmer: Playwright

ross

It’s hard to fathom, because, hey, he’s freakin’ Ross, but Friends star David Schwimmer is a serious stage actor. Currently, he’s performing as the lead in a Chicago revival of Our Town, but next year, he’s returning to direct an original play he co-wrote called Trust. Here’s the description:

“Text, email, IM, blog, comment, tweet, poke and chat. What price do we pay for intimate connections in an anonymous, digital world?”

The play premieres next year, so hopefully Facebook doesn’t go out of business before then and ruin some of the jokes.

Trailer Time: I Love You Man

Check out the trailer for the new film, I Love You, Man, which premieres on March 20th, 2009. The film stars Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones and Jason Segel about a newly engaged man going on a series of “man dates” for the perfect man friend.

The WB web is pretty intricate here but let’s see if we can dissect it. Paul Rudd guest-starred on Friends as Phoebe’s boyfriend, while Rashida Jones was interviewed on The Jeannie Tate Show and Jason Segel starred in Forgetting Sarah Marshall with Veronica Mars’ own Kristen Bell. J.K. Simmonds (who plays the dad) also one appeared on an episode of Jack & Bobby while Jeannie Tate herself, Liz Cackowski, has a supporting role with Rob Huebel and Nick Kroll from Childrens’ Hospital. Phew.

Our friends over at AOL have a listing up of the top 40 television shows of the 90’s, and of course some WB originals were included.

In Living Color made the list at #23, not only because of the quality of the content, but because of all the superstars that got their start there.

Friends, which more than a few people would put at #1, came in at #5. Darn that Seinfeld, always hogging the spotlight.

And our highest ranking show,  Buffy The Vampire Slayer, came it at #4.

Is there a better show about slaying vampires in any decade? The answer is no.
