Is an iPhone application a gadget? I think they answer is yes. Let’s go with it.

Today’s “gadget” is the Bad Decision Blocker . It blocks you from making calls or emails to certain people on your contact list during a set amount of time. Basically, it prevents you from “drunk dialing” your boss, your ex-boyfriend, or your mom when your judgment has been impaired from too much liquor or candy.

It only costs $.99, which may explain why their 7 minute long “infomercial” for the Bad Decision Blocker looks like a c+ high school video project.

What do you get for the iPhone owner in your life, especially if you don’t like them that much, or you are poor? How about FREE iPhone apps?

It’s the gift that shows you don’t have very much money and you know what kind of phone they have.

If you are feeling particularly seasonal, you can try the Christmas Lights game, or the free iPhone Bible (King James version.)

If you are old enough to drink, and cool enough to own an iPhone or iPod, check out this new i-cessory, the iBreath. It’s a breathalyzer you hook up to your iPhone or iPod. Just blow into the iBreath, and a few seconds later, it will let you know if you are above the legal limit.

If the weather outside is frightful, but your iPhone is so delightful, you may want to consider getting DOTS gloves. The gloves are designed so that you can use your touch screen device without exposing your digits.

The gloves feature tiny metal beads on the fingers that they promise won’t scratch screens, and are available in either “knit” or “wool” style.

You could just cut off the fingers of your normal gloves, but then you kind of look like a hobo. A cool hobo that owns an iPhone, but a hobo nevertheless.

The G1 has a touch screen like the iPhone, but also nicely swings out to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. I’m kind of torn about the design: it’s not as sleek as the iPhone, and the swing-out screen reminds me of those scenester kids with their Sidekicks. Plus, the bottom buttons remind me of an old PDA. But I’m superficial like that.

If both of your answers are yes, then you’re in luck. The band will release their latest album, A Hundred Million Suns, with an exclusive application for the Apple iPhone and iTouch to provide their fans with a “digital booklet” of information, lyrics, backstage footage and more.

Despite the ongoing popularity of Apple’s music products, this will be the first time a band will be working directly with the two products for their music.

It’s all pretty cool and one step further for Apple in their quest for world domination. I just hope they come out with an iSmell player soon, so you can experience how bad musicians can reek when they get all sweaty from playing music onstage. iGross.
