If you’re like me, you’ll be watching The Watchmen this weekend. Like the graphic novel, the movie is very visually dense, with plenty of “easter eggs” hidden in the movie for those who watch it over and over. But if you don’t have time for repeated viewings, MTV has put together a list of Watchmen Easter Eggs to look out for the first time.

My favorite? The copy of The Watchmen owned by one of The Watchmen in The Watchmen.

Amanda Seyfried, who you might know as Lily Kane on Veronica Mars, or from her starring roles on Big Love, Mean Girls, or Mama Mia, is set to play a crazy girl named Babydoll in the upcoming movie Sucker Punch. The Watchmen and 300 director Zack Snyder co-wrote the script, and will direct.

After the jump, details on Sucker Punch.

The Watchmen: Legal Battle OVER

Phew. I was worried there for a while that The Watchmen’s legal troubles would stop it from making its March 6th release date.

However, our big bros. over at Warner Bros. and Fox have settled the legal battle over ownership of the movie rights, and finally reached an agreement, allowing the movie to be released on time. I’m sure it involved a very, very large check. Comic book nerds, rejoice!

I’m a Seth Cohen level nerd, so I’m pretty versed in what happens in the upcoming graphic novel adaptation The Watchmen. Nevertheless, I was surprised that Japanese Watchmen trailer that shows much more of the movie’s alternate universe. Warning, parts of this trailer are in Japanese, yet it features no samurais nor spicy tuna rolls.

There’s been a lot of legal manuvering lately over the next big superhero movie, The Watchmen. I just hope it comes out in time. Here’s a MySpace exclusive featurette on The Watchmen, featuring some previously unseen footage, and director Zack Snyder introducing the stories and the characters.

How was your week? It’s about to get better with out favorite posts from the past few days.

So late in the day yesterday, the new trailer for The Watchmen made its way onto the Internet. For those of you who haven’t read the graphic novel, this trailer gives the first hint at the plot, and it offers some great shots of the heroes in action. I can’t wait for this to come out. Is it March yet?

Until they announce a sequel to The Dark Knight (The Dark Knight II: Even Knightyer), the comic-book movie fans like myself are anticipating the most is The Watchmen. Based on pretty much the best graphic novel of all time, The Watchmen doesn’t come out until March, but yesterday the studio behind the film (Warner Bros., natch) distributed some great new images from the movie to selected websites.

Wired scored a picture of Ozymandias, the LA Times was sent The Comedian, Entertainment Weekly’s PopWatch got Doctor Manhattan, MTV.com got Silk Spectre, and AccessHollywood.com got Nite-Owl.  If you’re looking for Rorschach, his new picture can be seen at USAToday.com’s Lifeline Live blog.

Since we aren’t on the list of selected websites, and we didn’t get any exclusive artwork, we had to make our own. The result, after the jump.

“300” Director Takes On Videogames.

Brendan September 30th, 2008 8:14 pm | No Comments »

Zack Snyder, director of “The 300” and the highly anticipated “The Watchmen” already has a new project lined up…videogames. Videogame giant EA (Who, btw, is supposedly the inspiration for the company in the show “Jpod”) and Snyder have agreed to come up with three games together, and possibly adopt those games into movies.

The 300 was a huge success, but I have a feeling that the deal was inspired by This VGCats comic.
