Scan Toaster

You can find a lot of things on toast. Jam, for example. Sometimes butter. Rarely, the image of Jesus. Soon, however, you might be able find your morning news, thanks to the Scan Toaster.

This bread-burning gadget was a finalist Electrolux Design Lab competition 08. You can connect it to your computer via USB, and a network of toasting modules heated by hot wires will put what you want on your toast, from images to words.

I think I’d want a picture of a slightly smaller piece of toast, since I’m on a diet.

The only problem with this device? It’s not for sale yet.

Until a manufacturer picks up this design, you’ll have to get words on your bread the old-fashioned way: Sharpie.

Nintoaster

Of all the meals, breakfast is the one least associated with 8-bit gaming. That all might change now thanks to the Nintoaster.

It’s an original NES that lives inside the body of a toaster. All the toasting parts have been removed, so you’ll have to find another way to heat your bread.

I think it’s pretty cool, but how long before someone breaks it by jamming in a piece of pumpernickel?

You can find more pics of the kitchen/gaming device at stupidfingers.com.
